The One I Am Looking For
You are an adventurous, easy-going, well-read woman who lives in New York, and you enjoy listening as well as talking.
You are liberal and concerned with social justice, you enjoy physical and cultural activities, and you want to share new experiences.
You want companionship while we take advantage of the cultural life, architecture and history of New York, and the world.
You want to tell me about your experience of the activities we share and you want to hear about my experience of these activities as we establish a connection that lays the foundation for a more serious relationship.
I'd Just Like to Add
How about having a chat? I’d like to get to know you and your interests.
If we connect during our electronic chat, we can meet for coffee to talk face to face about our experiences, interests, dreams, and things we’d like to do.
We can take in a visit to a museum. The Met, the Jewish Museum, and the Historical Society always have interesting exhibits that spark our imagination.
We can take a walk in Central Park to look at some of the impressive monuments and bridges, or some of the lovely gardens and lakes.
Who knows, maybe someday we’ll explore cities, villages, archeological sites and mountains in Crete or Peru, and learn how people in different cultures and historical eras lived.
The main ingredients of a great relationship are common core values and interests, respect for differences, an ability to communicate about our needs, concerns, and dreams, and physical attraction. These are the ingredients that are the basis of a trusting relationship.
In A Nutshell
I am a widower in my early 70s. I grew up in Michigan, lived most of my life in New Jersey, and lived in New York City for the last 12 years. I have a son in Arizona and a daughter and daughter-in-law in Massachusetts. I am a Psychology professor nearing retirement.
My passions are physical exercise, cultural activities, travel, and research. I recently began race walking and yoga. I enjoy opera and museums. I love to explore new places. I enjoy the challenge of designing research studies on how our mind processes language.
I am loyal, patient, caring, thoughtful, and respectful. I embrace differences between people. I was a loving, stable, reliable, involved partner for a long time and I'm looking for another relationship like that.

My Top Interests:
I walk with friends in NYRR races. Hearing the bands and cheering crowds and seeing the unique neighborhoods in the city add to the enjoyment of being physically active. When I started yoga and saw what other students could do, I felt inadequate. When I concentrated on my own experience, reaching my limit gives me satisfaction and feelings of satisfaction and well-being.
On one trip we had great fun negotiating for Egyptian robes from the top deck of a cruise ship on the Nile. Vendors on small boats wrapped the Egyptian robes and tossed them up to us to try on. We kept throwing them back from the top of the ship until we found the size and style we liked. From the top of the cruise ship we haggled over price until everyone was happy.
Museums and Galleries
Every time I visit a museum I learn something new. At the Picasso Museum in Barcelona, I was surprised to see that Picasso was an excellent classical artist as a teenager, well before he developed his famous revolutionary style.
