In A Nutshell
I am a Christian, which means a Christ follower, and still growing! I enjoy nature, all things artistic, literature, working out and clean eating! I am self-employed, and work part time as a hairstylist in the Village and love my work. I am grandma to two adorable twin girls, and love every minute of it. I love children, and have a background in early childhood development/teaching Preschool. I enjoy teaching K-2 twice a month at my church. I love hiking and exploring new areas, towns, trails or villages to see what they have to offer. I enjoy gardening, cooking, flower arranging, jazz, R & B, and inspirational music, plays and have been known to "cha cha" from time to time. My family and friends would describe me as being kind, thoughtful, tender hearted, humorous, responsible and generous.
The One I Am Looking For
The man I am interested in is similar to me, in that we must have the same values. A man who loves God first and foremost and others as himself. A man who has a habit of service, enjoys family, nature, exploring, all things cultural and quiet time with himself as well. Someone who is down to earth, centered and likes himself.
I am not looking for any long distance relationships, or for those who
a) don't have photos to share or
b) don't take the time to share about themselves.
Please put in the time if you are serious about any relationship development!
I'd Just Like to Add
Just some prior background: I used to travel alot when I was younger, before I settled down and married and had a family. I backpacked around the world for a year, after college as a graduation present to myself. I learned so much from that experience: people groups, cultural differences, cuisines and so much more.
In my 30's, I had the opportunity to live and work as a barber/stylist on a kibbutz in Israel for 6 months. Being knowledgeable about the Bible, I wanted to travel in Israel to understand and experience the Jewish culture and travel to the areas where Jesus ministered. But, I also wanted to serve the people there in some way, so working as a barber on a kibbutz was a perfect fit.
In my fifties, I launched an NGO in Kenya, building and estblishing a home for 50 children orphaned by the AIDS pandemic. I lived there off and on for 6 years, until it could be self sustaining.
Currently, I am working as I stated previosly, am very active in my church and adventuring closer to home with family, friends and my grandchildren. When I fully retire I am planning to write a novel, about my experiences in Kenya.
