A little about me...

I'm in an odd situation. I'm healthy enough, both mentally and physically, to participate fully in a complete relationship with the right woman. I'm sincere, honest, and emotionally available, and have a tremendous capacity for love. And I also have a chronic illness that will almost certainly prevent me from living a full lifespan, though really, one never knows. Don't worry, it's not contagious.

Still here? Good. I just didn't want to lure you in then spring that news on you later.

I'm a good listener, and a natural storyteller. Most people find me quite funny. I've written comedy professionally, and did standup in the 80s for a while. I don't take myself seriously.

Thanks to a young woman who was kind enough to show me what I was doing wrong when I was sixteen years old, and how to do it right, I'm a very good kisser. I don't say that to brag (well, not only to brag). It's just that good kissing is important to me. Of course, it takes two good kissers to really do it well.

I love the english language. I also love music of all kinds, as long as it's excellent.

FYI, I own a beautifully tailored high-end tux, and enjoy putting on the ritz when the occasion arises. But in general, I dress casually.

About the one I'm looking for...

I love women in general. I especially love smart, funny, articulate women. I am looking for a True Companion; someone who is self-aware, but not self-involved. I especially value someone who will tell me what she's feeling.

I'll accept you for who you are, if you'll do the same for me.

I value honesty, humor, and sincerity. I don't expect you to be anything I am not, but I'm not looking for my identical twin, either.

I'd just like to add...

I love both dogs and cats. I also love horses, though I'm not a very good rider. I like sharks, too, and as a scuba diver, I have been in the water with them on many occasions, without a cage. Not Great Whites, though. I'm manly and courageous, of course, but not crazy.

Children tend to like me a lot, probably because they recognize me as a kindred spirit, and because I don't talk down to them.

Yes, I have been known to bottle feed foster kittens, as shown in one of the pictures.

I speak Swedish pretty well, though I'm rusty. One meets so few Swedes. Living in Cozumel, Mexico for a short time, I also picked up a fair amount of Spanish.

Love the movies (Cohen Bros., Terry Gilliam, Tony Gilroy), good books, theater, and good television (Deadwood, Breaking Bad, Mad Men. Cheerful stuff like that. But also 30 Rock.).
